1933 Ford Coupe Body Choices…

1933 Ford Coupe Body Choices…

A brief look at whose body I am considering to use and why I am considering to use it.

First off yes, this car is going to be glass (if you know where a metal ’33 Ford Coupe is please let me know).

I have 3 different companies on my radar for supplier of the body. They are:

  1. N&N Fiberglass
  2. Show Me Rod & Custom
  3. Rat’s Glass

Just a quick rundown of why I am considering each body.

N&N Fiberglass: This body is made in Bellville, Arkansas so fairly close to where I live. I have read nothing but extremely positive reviews of these bodies on the internet and have been told positive reviews about them in real life. As a bonus they are not terribly priced at $6,500. I have also seen a finished ’33 that used one of their bodies and it looked great. Below is a small gallery of a few of their bodies.

Show Me Rod & Custom: This body is made in Highlandville, Missouri so at most it is 40 minutes from where I live. I have read good reviews about their bodies online but I know one painter that had some not so positive things to say about how much body work they needed. Their the most expensive body I am looking at; coming in at $7,250. Below is a small gallery of a few of their bodies.

Rat’s Glass: This body is made in Friendsville, Tennessee so it would be the farthest to get to. I haven’t read any good or bad comments about their, but I know that Bobby Alloway only uses their bodies. So take that for what it is worth. I also know someone who had one of their SpeedStar bodies and commented on how wavy some of the panels where. Their bodies are the cheapest at $6,300. Below is a small gallery of a few of their bodies.

As of this writing I am leaning towards the N&N Fiberglass body. But I have awhile before I need to make a final decision.
